xbox laptop help and ideas

hi i am currently building an xbox laptop and need some case ideas, i thought of useing acrilic sheets and "welding" them together

i dont have acess to a cnc and but may buy a makerbot soon

any further case ideas?

also i thought of having a 12 volt battery inside with a car inverter to power it without a plug (i know it wouldnt last long if it is even possible) if anyone thinks this is possible i need some suggestions on battery types, brands and or sizes

 

finally i would love it if someone told me about a website or store that sells tack switchs i live in canada and there is no radioshack anymore

  • Well Ben used a heavy duty military case with a PS3 project recently, and it seemed to work out pretty nicely.  Perhaps it's worth getting a good, solid aluminium briefcase and using that.  Something sturdy enough to have the screen on the lid - then really the main thing you'd have to worry about is a top for it, brushed aluminium maybe, would look great.

    Ideally you need something that can take a battering, plastic can be fairly fragile on it's own, if I was making a portable console, I'd go for an aluminium case - something with some space for better cooling, surface mounted LED's to keep that old school look - like some sort of 70's James Bond briefcase image.
