2 Project ideas, Laser 3d digitizer, Fan Follow

So here are 2 idea's i'd like to see built. Both usuable by the masses of diy'ers i think. irst,

First, a 3d digitizer much like David 3d scanner (http://www.david-laserscanner.com/) but several sizes larger, and without the point of reference chart needed in the background. I'd like to be able to digitize vehicles, or any other large item object. A scanner capable of digitizing a house would be awesome. I was thinking of combining a CNC aiming mechanism with a laser range finder (laser measuring tape) and take tons of readings that way.

Second, much like the following luggage, it would be cool to have a fan for the shop where it tracks your position and adjusts fan direction AND speed to compensate for distance. Perhaps this is too basic as all the elements required have already been covered by previous builds but i still think the majority of people here would be inclined to build one after you show them how its done.

Thanks

    Thanks for sharing your ideas.

It would be cool to have such a fan to help us get through the hot, humid summers in Wisconsin!
