Viewer Challenge: Atari 2600 "Netbook"/tablet with two-player wireless controllers.

Hi Ben,

I challenge you to build an Atari 2600 into a netbook form factor and Instead of a keyboard this would have wireless controls for 2 players. Alternatively you could use a tablet like form factor. I have an original set of 2600 wireless controllers I'd be willing to donate. The unit would have a larger screen then a regular portable so that two people could play comfortably. It would be great if the wireless controls could somehow fold up into the netbook or attach to the tablet for efficient portability.   Collin

That could be a cool project, but it begs the question - why not just make some Bluetooth controllers and use an Atari emulator on an Android tablet?

Because emulation is evil right? Ha Ha, no but seriously you are right that would be the more modern solution, not quite as 'cool' and 'retro hip' but .... yeah cool is not a good enough reason. I just have these wireless controllers and nothing to do with them. thanks for the reply.

    Quantum,

I like the idea of a Bluetooth relay for old consoles. You should look into this. It could be a very niche market.
