Hi,
I have an idea about something looking like laptop coolpad with slot for desktop GPU. You all probably know about ViDock by Village Instruments. There are available some PCI-E circuits like PE4H-EC2C or PE4H-PM3N, so I was thinking something like docking station where you would just push laptop and have gaming machine. Laptop could be modified to use internal mini PCI-E slot. If you travel, no need to carry everything and laptop will use integrated graphics card, long battery life, etc. Of course, it should have individual power supply, maybe from XBox 360, it should be strong enough. Additional cooling for GPU is prefered because of tight internal space. This could be a good business idea for laptop makers, and finally enable us to have true gaming laptop solution.
One other issue is if we want to output picture to laptops monitor instead of external one. We would need some electronics to route DVI or HDMI output from GPU back to laptop.
I know it is possible and it would be great if Ben can do implementation!
