[Challenge/Request] - 3D printer filament.

Found a project online about guys buying ABS or PLA pellets and turning them into filament via an extruder.

How about you make a machine to make your own filament for your printers from bulk supply!!

Just an idea.

Not an easy task, in fact there is a contest running for an open source, inexpensive option to do just this

That's impressive. I hope he puts in for the contest, I haven't looked at other entries but I know my local hackerspace had trouble doing this, so he might be the furthest along.

Here is a website that makes a machine that takes your plastics to recycle and converts into a filament that can be used in a 3d printer. Comes with a 3mm nozzle and 1.75mm. I have mine on order from when they were on the kickstarter website. www.filabot.com
