Ok, you may be wondering why someone would attempt to program a 555 timer. Well, I had ordered two ATtiny85s from a well-known website. I was real excited when they came in. So, I hooked up my programmer to the chip and started uploading. Well, I go error after error after error. So, after several hours of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, I decided to take a flashlight to read the label on the chip. Wow! These were 555 timers! Phew, I was somewhat relieved that it was the chip, and not me. I double-checked the packing slip and noticed that indeed I had ordered attiny85s. They pulled the wrong part. Thankfully they agreed to ship new ones right away for free.
