Build Idea: Raspberry pi wrist computer

I was thinking that you could maybe have an episode or two dedicated to making a wrist computer out of the raspberry pi something akin to a Pipboy 3000 but a bit more on the usable side. Start off with a raspberry pi, desolder and remove or relocate unnecesary parts (the RJ45 port would hardly be useful in a wrist computer and it will be thinner without it; the SD card slot should be moved to the outside of the project for easy access, etc), add an approriately sized touchscreen and a battery pack and shove it all into a custom enclosure. Doesnt have to be perfect, just needs to be more of a proof of concept. I'm working on something like this right now and it would be greatly helpful. Besides, who doesnt want a wrist computer?

We plan to make a small "laptop" with the Pi in the future. Wrist-mounted is probably too small.

Ok. I still plan on going through with it on my end, however, seeing how you go about making the laptop should greatly reduce the amount of fumbling that happens when I try to make one wrist or forearm sized. I suppose i fall outside the average on wrist size too, im 6'9" tall so there is some hope there.

One thing you could do is mount the pi around your waist and wire it up to a touchscreen monitor on your wrist. Let me know if that works.

Don't forget that you could use the underside of the wrist to host the bulk of Pi. With the CPU under slung and the battery and flexible touchscreen on top it would be plenty small.

If you desolder the bulk of the unnecesary components from the pi and resolder one of the cans sideways, you can get the thicknees to be that of the pcb and the hdmi port. You could get it even thinner if you desoldered the SD card slot and rewired it up somewhere else.
