Ben Heck Show Challenge

Hello Ben!

My brothers and I thought it'd be cool to have a gaming system that could travel with us since our mom has a vehicle with a built-in DVD player that has composite jacks built on the side for such occasions. We originally wanted to go cartridge based since we would be in a moving wehicle. But with the idea of hauling all of those cartidges around seemed a bit extreme for a road trip saver. Is there any way we could make a road worthy console that plays a ton of old school games (possibly up to the PS1 era of gaming if possible)?

Your fan,

Matt

You can use an emulator on an SBC (like that raspi) or anyother single board computer.

    Emulator on a laptop?

    On Android?

No reason to build something when software is a solution.

I would prefer to make it a console mostly because the only input to the vehicle's DVD display is composite. Something like the Raspberry Pi (or any SBC like Fidel Salinas mentioned) would work amazingly since we don't want to haul around a laptop just for games.

Well there you go. Raspberry Pi + Emulators + USB or Bluetooth controllers.

Okay. Guess I'll start planning it out then. But I feel that this project could turn itself into something bigger...
