RGB led strips controlling

almidi

Hey Ben

I am trying to achieve this for a long time. I even asked a professor for help in Mosfets but still I cant figure it out. I am trying to switch on and of some RGB LED STRIPS with my ARDUINO UNO while at the same time controlling them with an RGB controller. The rgb controller connects everything to anode(+) while modulating the cathode(-) of the leds... So what I'm left with to control is an anode of 12volts. I thought of relays.. but they are too slow for the project. I also thought about 3 mosfets, connected to each cathode of the led strips.. but since this is a VU project with 10 individual led strips this would mean 30 mosfets witch is quite expencive

Thanks in advance !!

If you want to quickly DISABLE the lights, find the "gate" pin of each MOSFET and have a switch to connect it to ground via a 10k resistor.

Or omit the controller entirely and control MOSFETS with PWM from your microcontroller.
