Hello!! I joined up due to Ben's awesomeness and to show off my digital pinball machine (yes, its an emulator and not a true size pinball table but it is fun). I am using two monitors hooked up to a PC that has a USB controller for the flippers and plunger and two USB speakers (no extra power wart).
I am running the Future Pinball emulator and the whole system works great together! In the different pictures (50 meg but only 5 pics?!) (ill upload more later) you can see how I started out by laying the screens down to figure out the overall size and and angles that worked best, I then started screwing parts together and built the lower half of the frame (I wanted to play!) and mounted the PC motherboard on some feet that I then screwed to the base of the cabinet along with the speakers and power supply, I then drilled for the flipper buttons and the other control buttons. I put a USB wireless card in for connectivity and it allows me to edit the configuration remotely.
I then topped the playfield and backglass with acrylic (its sold in 18 inch widths so thats what I made the cabinet to fit (so I only had to cut once)) that I painted on the underside with the same paint i used on the cabinet!
As a prototype / version 1 I think it came out ok...
