Our car has a dvd player and 7 inch LCD built into the headrests (so the kids can watch movies). The DVD player has started not working on a regular basis and I would like to replace it with a better option. The headrest 7 inch LCD has additional inputs (RCA video/audio) and I would like to use these to be able to stream videos from some device (raspberrypi ???). The concept would be that the device would be mounted somewhere accessable (center console ???) and would have 4 buttons and 1 USB port or SD slot. The 4 buttons would be start, pause, rewind to beginning, and power. when powered on, it would check to see if a USB/SD card was present and if so, start playing whatever video file is located on it. While I do not expect this to be an overly complicated/difficult project, I have never done anything like this before and I am simply looking for any thoughts/comments/suggestions.
