Hey, so in the process of making my own raspberry pi I came a problem. What type of battery should I use? And possibly where could I get a case made?

Battery depends on your load, I think Ben talked about that in the episode.  Batteries are rated in mAh, so you take the capacity in mA and divide by how many mA you will use and that will give you how many hours it will run.

As for case, after you design it, you can go to places like Ponoko for laser cutting and 3D printing as well as Shapeways.  Also I found this neat site that pops out interlocking tabs for making your own boxes which is good for laser cut designs

I've heard the Model A Pi's use less power, since they don't have the USB hub / Ethernet chip.
