I am 16 and and a Trainee IT Administrator 
I'm 21 and have been programmin and medeling in electronics since I was 12 
The NIxies and the likes were great displays and give you the warm fuzzy feeling with that orange glow.
How ever any one who can remember them in anger will remember an age where an information display of any type was far from the norm. LCD technology came at a time of increasing CPU usage and reduced costs we now can have information displayed almost ubiquitously. Think about it if you took a teenager back to when Tom Baker was Dr Who they would think they were on a set of a Dickins movie 
I'm 26..27 in a few more days and I've been into energy and it's by products since I came out of my robot mums womb.
