I am going away to college this year and I have a problem... My parents (who will be caring for my small dog) are very forgetful.
There have been a few times when I have found her left outside late at night. I am good at remembering, and always check, but my parents are not so good at checking.
My idea is to build some sore of arduino based system that has a chip that will turn it on when my dog walks past the sensor.
An alarm will make a loud noise every short period of time (say five minutes), and will serve as a reminder. After another period (maybe 15 minutes), it will make a an alarm go off.
When the dog walks in, it will turn off.
This is something I think that I may be able to build, but I will a lot of help. I am inexperienced in building circuits, new to programming, and most of my new knowledge comes from TBHS.
Any tips on how I could build the circuit, where to learn more about integrating it into the arduino, and any ideas would help alot.
Or if Ben sees this and wants to build one.. that would be awesome (crosses fingers)
Thanks for any help!
