I am from Australia, and I was wondering what the logistics are of making a system like the Wireless Mail Detection Device that Ben made, but using a raspberry pi with a gsm module. I want it to also take a photo from a webcam when it is activated and send it to a mobile phone or a computer.
So, just to make it clear, what happens will be this:
Trigger gets activated (Whether it be infrared or a manual switch doesn't matter at this stage)
Raspberry pi trips a solenoid. (Or sets off a beeper or turns a light on. Doesn't really matter)
Pi takes photo with webcam or camera module.
Pi sends photo via GSM module to a pre-set phone number.
Is this system possible with the stuff he used on his Wireless Mail Detection Module? Obviously I would need a computer of some kind to process the photo and send it...
