challenge build ultimate secret gaming chair

i have a challenge for you ben im a huge fan love all of your shows etc

i want to build a gaming chair that looks normal and blends into the living room but has all the equipment needed to make it a gaming seat in moments (2 mins form hidden to playtime)

my first suggestion would be use a pc in the base of the chair and use a projector for the display.

id love to see ben build this but if its not for him please all pitch in with ideas

i have a pico projector with hdmi a spare chair (waiting to be messed with image ) that matches current sofa (the less the wife sees the less she will care)

thanks all

    Darren,

I love this idea! My wife is the same way. So long as it's out of sight, she wouldn't mind, but "it has to be pretty" is the motto.

It's so easy to get HDMI out of computers these days (even the Pi, though that's not what most would call a gaming platform), I wonder whether a small form factor PC sitting beside/behind/below/wherever-isn't-obvious the TV and connected to one of the TV's HDMI inputs would do the trick. Add a wireless keyboard and gaming mouse, and your average recliner would do the job without modification.

One issue with using a projector is that both it and the chair have to be pointed at something. Are you thinking about maybe turning the chair 90 degrees to point at an empty, white wall while it's in gaming mode, and then restoring it's original orientation in the room for happy-household mode?

    --Jeff

my description is in-complete i must admit i rushed but thats because im at the office

ill be more clear when i get home ill even upload an example drawing

    but thanks for the input

1 note i dont want to use a tv as that defeats the point the chair has to be everything display, sound (both speakers and headphone socket / usb) and input if possible plus

there needs to be some kind of reactive nature to the chair vibro feedback or similar.

Hi everyone... Argentum047 here. I have been thinking of buying a video game chair and started doing some research. Currently, I play console and use a large bean bag from LovSac. My Sac is great, but it would be great to have more support overall. My research has led me to a few brands. Namely DXRacer, X Rocker, Merax, Maxnomic, and Arozzi. I know I do not want a chair with speakers. Therefore, most (if not all) of the X Rocker chairs are likely out. Money is not really a concern. I have seen some chairs for around $500, but ideally, I would want the best chair for the money. However, I would be willing to pay for quality. Other info that may help: I am 6' tall, 210 lbs, and longer in my torso than legs with longer than average arms. Comfort and support are important. Color options and looks are secondary.

So this is where you come in... What are your thoughts, opinions, and recommendations on chairs? Would you buy yours again? Have you ever had a negative experience with a particular brand? Etc...I appreciate any and all feedback here. Thanks for reading and helping a fellow Agent out!
