Viewer Challenge: PiPhone

Hey Ben,

 

I thought I'd challenge you to make a Raspberry Pi smartphone.

 

Here are some min. specs:

 

[REQUIRED] Raspberry Pi Model AB (start with Model B, take off 1 USB, Ethernet, composite, and audio jack)

4" (diagonal) ISP LCD touchscreen

[REQUIRED] A sleek case with a Macbook-like Raspberry Pi logo on the back (it lights up when your PiPhone is on)

Android 4.0

 

Some more required stuff:

 

Buttons

Sensors

WiFi

 

Yep, it's called PiPhone.

  • It would be better to use the internal dsi port, and there is not a driver yet (as far as i am aware) and the fact that there is not internal support for 4G issues a problem, as it would be limited by usb bandwidth. I think there are much better altervatives than using a pi as a phone.
