Just wanted to show everyone my finished build. The video is an earlier process on how it all works. The photo is the completed project.

The Pi is connected to a Microsoft Wireless Receiver and the charger cable for an Xbox 360 Controller.

Plug in an HDMI cable and the power cable and you're ready to play some Super Mario Brothers in no time.

For more information check out: http://dustinevans.net/projects.php

If you have any questions feel free to add me on Google Plus: www.gplus.to/dustinevans

Thanks for reading.

    Yes they are.

There is an input config screen built into RetroPie but to use the Xbox controller you need to install xboxdrv using this guide:

    https://github.com/petrockblog/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Setting-up-the-XBox360-controller

    After finding this LifeHacker article:

    http://lifehacker.com/how-to-clone-your-raspberry-pi-sd-card-for-super-easy-r-1261113524

I discovered that once I setup an xbox controller, I could just clone that image and use it again. Originally, I had set up RetroPie for a friend but it was so much fun I did it on my Raspberry Pi and then made the box for it.

On my website for this project:

    http://dustinevans.net/retropie

I host the "stock" RetroPie image with one Xbox controller. It doesn't contain any ROMs but if you know where to look, they're not hard to find.

In each system's config file you can change what the buttons do. Towards the bottom of my site I mapped out what the buttons do in each emulator.
