I'm sure you're familiar with the "Toner Transfer Method" for making homemade printed circuit boards. You need to use a clothes iron, make sure its really hot, and press it onto the the transfer-paper and the copper clad board. The board is then rinsed and placed into a solution of ferric chloride to be etched. This is a really great way to make circuit boards at home, but not good if you want to make more than one. I propose an heat-press. The press would have a few features: 1) Thermistor-LED circuit to tell the user the press is hot-and-ready (Like a waffle iron!) 2) A locking mechanism so the press would stay tight against the paper and copper clad board 3) A timer which will turn on another LED to tell the user its done. Something like this would make it a little bit easier to make circuit boards at home, and would definitely be useful to someone that makes a lot of boards. Thank you for reading my post, I hope it makes it to the show!
