upgrading the screen to a colour backlit lcd on a wonderswan console

hello ben, for years i have been wanting to play my wonderswan with a backlit screen.

there have been a few mods to make a frontlight for the wonderswan, but sadly are no longer avaliable to purchase.

wondering if there is a way to change the screen to a backlit screen, where would i wire the screen to (soldering to which points on the board), think i would have to increase the power as the console takes only one aa battery to play. also would i be able to add a tv output?

 

i know that not many people are familliar with this console but has a great range of games, and would love to be playing it again without the annoyance of trying to get the right lighting to be able to play.

  • I play on the original Gameboy and I have the same problem. I think that would alter the thickness of the Gameboy if you added a light to it so, you could maybe switch out the normal screen to an LCD screen. Though that may not work because of the technology or some other reason about the way the games are coded.
