I watched the episode for tools to start with, and I loved it! I've been trying to get into hacking and making for a while, but never really had much time until recently. Now that I am just starting, I'm hoping to build up some skills with soldering, as well as getting started playing around with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Since I am uncertain what it is that I am doing, it seems like I should find out what some of the more common parts are as well as common tools, so I can have a small kit ready to go.
So, my question is- What parts wolud be good to keep around? I know that 10k resistors seem to be a thing to keep around (at least, for use in buttons) but are there any other parts like capacitors, or small motors?
