Remote light switch

I have a passion for building things. That passion takes effort, and I love to use that effort to be more lazy in the future, and continue to make my life easier by allowing me to be more lazy.

One of the things I hate more than anything is watching a movie and having to get out of my nice warm bed to turn off the lights, so here is my challenge! A simple light switch that can be controlled by both a computer across the room and an android smart phone, ideally by wirelessly connecting to a router so that it could be controlled by multiple computers or even a pi, and still be able to turn it off and on using the switch.

I know there are light switches out there that can do this, but all the ones I've come across work using cheap infrared LEDs, and then you come across the same problem where either it's on the other side of the room or the batteries are dead, so having it hooked to a smart phone would be handy.

It would also be awesome to have it rigged up to my desk top so that you could write programs to dim, or completely switch off the lights when certain programs are active, like VLC or some video games.

As an extra challenge, how about remote control Venetian blinds, so you can let more or less light in, and open/close them.
