I am building a small computer out of a raspberry pi and I have run into a weird issue; I get a ground loop when I connect both my pi and a 7-in touch screen LCD to the same power supply, and connect them with an HDMI or composite cable. To add insult to injury I cannot find a circuit diagram or much info on the driver board for the LCD, nor is separate power supplies an option here.. I am wondering if I can cut the +5V line from the HDMI cable, or insert a resistor or something like that. Anyone have any ideas?
The LCD board is the VS-TY2662-V1, give or take. It is supposed to require 12V but works fine on 5V.
