Dear ben heck. I currently got my hand on some cd-drives. They had a ARM MCU in them.
And i tough: "Hmm there's some free arm mcu with voltage regulator and some other components like flash memory. It's almost like dev kit"
so your challenge, if you'll choose to accept it, is: get any product with arm mcu, hack the board so it would be usable, make a simple project and show people how to reuse ARM MCUs (Steup ide, flash the chip etc.)
PS: the cd-rom would be best since we all have one (or more)
