Hey Nathan I'm only fourteen and I can wire up a screen to a Raspberry PI It's not hard. You can get an LCD screen on Ebay for about 20 dollars just search automobile backup camera LCD and refine the search to be under 25 dollars and you will find it faster. When you connect it to your PI you can use the composite video jack or solder the LCD leads directly to the pins on the bottom of the board where the jack is soldered in. If you use the video jack you can use an old cable that goes to a TV to connect a tape player or DVD player and ,to make the cable shorter, cut the cable in the middle with wire cutters or scissors then use the cutters or scissors to strip about an inch of the black plastic off the cable you will see some bare copper and one wire inside. Twist all the copper together to make one strand then strip half of an inch off the wire inside the cable. The wire is the part of the cable that the signal travels through and the bare copper is ground. on Your screen there is a cable that can plug into the cable you just stripped but to splice the wire you cut the end off and copy the steps you did with the cable.(Sorry this is getting long)Next hold the bare copper that you stripped off and hold them in an x and twist them together then cover your splice int tape to keep it together and do the same with the stripped ends of the wire inside the cable and tape them together also. Now all that is left to do is plug the end you just spliced into the jack on the PI. And if you have a soldering iron you can just cut the end of the cable from the screen and strip the wires apply solder to the stripped ends and solder them to the pins on the bottom of the board. When you look at the bottom of the board there three pins that stick through the bottom from the video jack the one closest to the side of the board is ground which is the bare strands of the cable. Solder them together the pins farthest from the side are signal you can use either one. Now you are done I hope this helped you bro if you have anymore questions just ask.:)
