Similar to your Steampunk POV Display, why don't you try building a rotary display, that rotates a high resolution screen including a wireless signal receiver around itself thereby creating the illusion of a volumetric cylinder display. You could then display any 3D object on that 3D screen, and look at it from every angle. As a bonus, you could put that whole thing inside a Mirage mirror bowl to make it safe for touching.
Basically this would be the first mid-air, touchable hologram display that unlimited people can look at from every angle without the need for any kind of head-tracking.
