hey Ben, try and build a Peltier cell phone charger maybe using a cpu heat sink for cold side. a heat sink with candle\s on the hot side and then a 5v regulator attached to a usb plug. Ill leave the details up to you

I guess the idea is just like his pinball machines, glue gun, game controllers, arcades, video game consoles, cnc machines, etc. , he can take something that can just be purchased and modify it to make it cool 
I gave the basic idea and he can come up with the "cool"
