i had an idea for a soldering iron that works kinda like a glue gun except it shoots solder instead of glue i also have the hardest time soldering stuff and getting just the right amount of solder on them so if you could make this that would be awesome.

I know this is a bit late, but for others reading.

I found this guide very good to pass onto new people.

    https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-guide-excellent-soldering/making-a-good-solder-joint

There is no requirement for 'forced solder' devices, as the amount varies with nearly every joint.

I've been involved with Schools where we take pupils with zero soldering skills and put together a Christmas Tree, and by lunchtime they have finished it, and they can solder well.

The key is knowing what to look for in the finished joint, so you can rectify the problem.

Be aware that oxidation can occur on the board and the component lead, so a simple wipe with an Eraser is enough to 'polish' the solder pad before you begin.
