IIt would be cool If you could take a raspberry pi and mod it thinner and design a custom case for it and basically make a laptop or an ultra-book I think you have the brain power to do it

Unfortunately, it is probably cheaper to buy a laptop which will then be faster, especially if you take time into account. Nice idea though.
Ultrabook are made possible because of big production runs which reduce the cost. Making one macbook air or one chromebook (as well as one home made ultrabook computer) would cost you so much because of the high precision machining techniques used for making the case. Ben doesn't have the tools for making such enclosure like you'll find on ultra books.
It is also pretty hard to make battery that are thin enough to fit in the size of an ultrabook. Samsung, Apple and co uses custom made designed battery that are not thinkable for home made stuff.
But I admit that a portable raspberry pi base computer would be nice to see.
According to intel, ultrabooks need to have intel core based processor to be called so ( raspberry since it is ARM based is not elligible
