Maker bot thing o matic

hello ben my name is nick and I'm 13 years old since I was 9 I was fascinated with technology but sadly I can't build or test anything I think of because I'm inexperienced and don't have any money can you help me. My teacher at school gave me his old maker bot thing o matic but I can't get it to work can you take a look at it or better yet fix it it would help me a lot. if you give me an address I can send it to you thanks.     Does the machine home then stop?  Have you checked to the temperature of the hotend and bed to make sure they are heating up enough or maybe even to much?  I know in the past users were having issues with the temp sensor(thermistor) getting to hot.

  • Hello Nick, You and my son share the same name and the same age.  Several years ago, I bought him a Makerbot Thingomatic, but he didn't build it until just over a year ago.  Although I'm a motion control engineer, he wanted no help from me as he wanted the bragging rights of building the entire Makerbot on his own.  Well, he did it.  Throughout this past year, he's had a multitude of problems. He's gotten really good with the Makerbot and knows it very well. He may be able to help you if you still need help.
