A great looking clock that is relatively easy to build (out of wood at least) at a reasonable price point. The Tix LED Clock seems to no longer be available. There is a site (AP Digital light: Wood block LED clock) that shows how to make it but they use "left over" parts that they had on hand. An Element14 friendly version would be greatly appreciated.

For a prototype I am using addressable RGB LEDs, not something Element14 have. I am also doing a design for RGB LEDs for use in a large version which may of more interest.
Update:
I designed a mono-colour version using an Arduino Mini as controller. The size is 10x5cm to allow for cheap fabrication, but the LEDS can also be mounted externally e.g. on strip board, and connected via ribbon cable.
