ULTIMATE VIDEO GAME SYSTEM

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

I came up with this idea in 5th grade for the ultimate video game system. But i didnt know enough at the time to make my idea happen and have since realized how complicated it can be.

But what if it could become a reality on the ben heck show?

Ben, if you see this, i can see it being a big, time consuming build, possibley a 4-6 part video series.

This idea consists of having every video game console to date all in one system.

The older system would be easy to make, as they can run on roms downloaded from the web and run on an emulator.

The roms would be held on a sd card or would be embedded in some kind of internal memory, like ssd.

this is not meant to be a portable by the way

wifi and bluetooth would be essential for the later consoles. so far, the games i found i had trouble emulating on my computer are psx, ps2 and xbox games. the playstation trouble is due to lack of know how on my part. and the xbox is due to lack of roms.

Use a wii for both gamecube and wii games with wireless gcn controllers, use a ps2 for both psx/2. i am unsure if ps4 can do ps3 games, but that would cut down on a drive or two. so we are looking at about

on second thought, if you use these drives, it should cover all current systems.

ps2, ps4, wii u, gamecube, xbox360, xbone.

another issue will be having one kind of universal controller to play such a MEGA SYSTEM.

this piece of machinery would likely cost a pretty penny, which i am unable to fund.

360 and xbone and the later playstations would not NEED drives because of the downloadable content availability. neither would the wii/u.

The wording of my idea is kinda confusing to people who are not me, so i made a sketch using MS paint on how i would want this to look. keep in mind that nothing is proportional to any of it and no motherboard or guts have been planned. this is meant to be a universal system that allows all systems to take up one outlet in a power strip or socket and one HDMI on your hd tv.

I have an idea on how to make a bios type menu structure so that when you power on the unit, itll ask you what system you will be using, and you select it. then itll power all the other systems off, to save on electric. I would like to have this use a PC power supply because the power plug is detatchable from the system, in case you wanna take it to a friends house, you could just use the pc plug at that house.Same intention goes for the HDMI, in case you wanna take it somewhere else, you can just pick up a power and hdmi cord anywhere you may happen to go.I would like to have as many possible types of connections, but that would just make this complicated item more complicated. 7.1 audio in the back would be a nice feature.

This is my first time posting on element14, so i am unsure who can comment, or if this goes directly to ben. i find the element14 commercials comical at times and very informative. the commercials are short and are one of few that dont get on my nerves.
