Found these cool compact hdmi connectors

timonske

In the wake of the new Xbox One Portable episode I remembered that I recently found these neat hdmi connectors on ebay
Micro HDMI to HDMI Soft Flat Signal Cable GH4 GOPRO3 A6000 Z15 Z1400 25cm E | eBay

Unfortunately they end in a micro hdmi connector but if you buy two of these you should be able to just switch them out and have a normal hdmi cable.
Would be great to buy these connectors alone without the (most of the time) useless micro hdmi connector. Maybe Farnell could source and sell them *hint hint*.
Would make a lot of RPi project more compact aswell.

Exactly. You can always make some yourself but its tedious. If even Ben complains about stripping those cables it has to be quite nasty to do that multiple times image

Its a great thought but its very expensive for a hdmi connector, you can probably find hdmi break-out boards for cheaper than that specific ad, but again, still a great thought!

Thats why I would love to see them sold separately. This ebay listing is a very specialized product for a single purpose, I'm sure you can sell the standard male connector for a dollar in low quantities.
Thing with breakout boards is that they involve soldering lots of wires, not much gained there :/
