what kind of power socket should i get to replace the old power socket on a playstation 2 slim because i believe my ps2 doesnt want to turn on because of it and i see that the middle rod (i dont know the real name to it) is burned out, i need a brand new power socket for it

    I have seen where poor connections will produce an electric arc which produces extreme heat. This will further burn and damage the connectors. Based on what you describe it is likely that the problem is just in your connector. One important thing to note however is that if there is damage to the jack there is also damage to the plug on the end of the wall wart. If you replace the jack and keep the old plug it will likely re-damage the new jack. The best policy is to replace the jack and the plug at the same time.
