I have a few ideas about possible builds or show ideas for the future.
1) getting started with micro controllers
I think that making a show on getting started with micro controllers would be a good one. I am a computer science major and i know how to program but i don't know what a good way to get into micro controllers would be or a few tips on getting started. I wold also like to program in C++ or python and i don't know what chips would support such languages.
2) mame cabinet
I know Ben is really into pinball machines but maybe a mame cabinet or even a portable mame cabinet would be cool. Or even a laptop mame cabinet since he does that a lot.
3) smart BEAM robotics
BEAM stands for Biology, Electronics, Aesthetics and Mechanics and it is the art of making small robots that do a simple task with as few parts as possible and as elegant as it can be using analog circuits. I think it could use an interesting twist my incorporating a micro controller into the mix such as the trinket by Adafruit. If you don't know about BEAM robotics i suggest a look up on Wikipedia. I think a photorover or light seeking robot would be a cool one to make.
