A no fueling, no resource relying electric generator? can you make this?

Hi, I've seen so many of ben heck's creations and I was wondering, could you make a generator that creates electricity without needing any kind of fuel and does not rely on any resources?

I've tried to do some research and magnetic motor generators seems like the best bet for this but I haven't seen any magnetic generators that seem effective enough.

The other idea I could think of is to make a wind turbine, make a roof over it, mount magnets to the ends of the turbine, mount magnets from the roof to the right spots around the turbine, that way the turbine could keep rotating without having to rely on the wind.

But I don't know how to make a turbine to conduct a lot of electricity, and of course I'm no expert on this stuff either.

So, could you ben, or any of you out there that could make some sort of device or anything that creates electricity for your home, without any fuels or resources?

If Ben knew how to do this he wouldn't be wasting his time making videos about electronics for a living ! MK

I believe you are thinking of a perpetual motion device, or a free-energy machine. Either device runs with absolutely no energy input (mechanical energy, heat energy, chemical energy, etc). Unfortunately this is impossible as it defies the law of conservation of energy. Even with magnets you cannot just create energy, as energy can not be created from nothing. Instead, maybe try to create energy from something "free" like the water cycle (Rain), wind, or solar power.

You might also like to read up about energy scavenging. There are generators of low power that work from variation of temperature and vibration.

But there has to be an input of energy, usually you have a mechanical energy that is converted to electrical energy.

well, if this is the case, Could you make a vertical wind turbine to generate a lot of electricity? as in, a dozen kilowatts or more...maybe?

I mean, if it's possible to do something like that.
