Hi everybody!
I'm Adam John Williams, a hacker/maker/artist from London. Some of you may have come across me already in some electronics videos I've done for Element14 as well as some other companies, most recently this one:
As well as this one, back when the Arduino Zero was launched:
As I mentioned in the Element14 video, I'm a long time fan of the Ben Heck Show, which is partly why I jumped at the chance to work with Element14 recently. Ben's work has always been a great source of inspiration for me, even back before the Ben Heck show when I used to follow the step-by-step photo posts of console mods on his website. (Ben if you read this, hey! I am a huge fan. Nerding out right now.)
Recently I've started producing my own show for YouTube. It's called The Hack Track and will focus on easily replicable hardware/software projects, with a particular focus on using electronics & programming alongside music & art. The first episode is not out yet, but as a sneaky peek you can take a look at the opening title sequence of the show below:
I'd love to get feedback from anyone who wants to give it. I'd also welcome any suggestions of things people would like to see featured in an episode, perhaps I could give some more in-depth explanations of some of my existing projects etc. if there was a particular topic people were interested in. I do lots of arduino + sensors + Max MSP sorts of projects, usually related to music or art but if there's anything particular people would like to see covered, then I'll see what I can hack together. No requests for console mods or pinball machines though please - let's leave that to the professionals
Currently planned Hack Track episodes (some in production) include:
Guerilla Projection Mapping at Secret Solstice Festival in Reykjavik
The Music Tech Fest Hack Camp at Earzoom Festival in Ljubljana
Raspberry Pi-based multiple touchscreen AV performance rig
Revisiting some of Adam's less useful or more ridiculous projects
DIY Synthesizer Modules and Arduino/RasPi powered synths
My gestural glove controller for live effects on beatboxing performances
And a few more in the pipeline...
So what do you guys think? If any of you had come across me somewhere before, is there any particular work of mine you'd like to know more about? And if not, what sort of cool electronics & multimedia projects would you like to see created in videos that you can follow along with?
