Do you want to print a case on a 3D printer or a case for a 3D printer? This will change how its mechanically fastened together. For example if you printing a case for say a Rasperry Pi your taps and screws would be very small, essentially just to hold the case together but now you trying to build a case for you printer then more weight/strain would entail larger screws.
