Digital PI (Pulse Induction) metal detector

I want to build a digital PI (Pulse Induction) metal detector. Which components may be the best for this? I think I'll need a fast and precise AD converter and a fast micro controller to measure the voltage decay and then compare with a normal curve without metal present. ¿Am I in the right way?

    You will probably be able to do quite well with the on chip ADC if you pick the right micro. Some of the STM32F4xx parts have dual or triple ADCs which can work together to get sampling rates as fast as…

    You will probably be able to do quite well with the on chip ADC if you pick the right micro. Some of the STM32F4xx parts have dual or triple ADCs which can work together to get sampling rates as fast as 4MHz which should be enough.

    You can get low cost Discovery or Nucleo boards to work with but you'll need to design your own analogue front end.

    There's a lot of info on the web.
