So im looking to escape the Apple stranglehold and replace my iPhone with a flashy new Android device but the main thing that is holding me back is the ease of use if my speaker dock. Every night i simply drop my iPhone into the dock and i while my own sweet tunes lull me to sleep my iPhone happily charges.
I was thinking with a bluetooth equipped Android phone you could dock that phone in its own power dock and stream music to my speakers using a bluetooth reciever hacked to output audio to, and receive power from, a female ipod dock connector docked in the speakers.
Yes you can buy devices that do this (like this one) but they cost an arm and a leg. And going on this example it looks like it might be possible.
