Pioneer SA-6200 Hi-Fi Amp

Hi

 

I have an old Pioneer SA-6200 Hi-Fi Amp, and is in need of repair. I am new to electronics and I would appreciate info on how to fault find. The amp was working when I got it, and it sounds brilliant, but now there is no power at the speaker terminals. Fault finding tips would be very helpful.

 

I have attached the circuit diagram if it might be helpful.

    Hi, as with most fault finding, if in doubt start at the power supply, I would begin by checking the Vrails, in particular the 50V and 25V rails.

    Once you have confirmed the supply is working, then check the output transistors and then work your way back to the input till you get a signal.

     

    Thats the technical bit, however 80% of the time a good pair of eyes and nose will find the problem, look for scorch marks on the PCB around the output stage and power supply, look at the output transistors and look for any kind of physical damage.
