question about hacking hard drive

dear ben

thanks for your wonderful program . im learning a lot form you  , i have a question it will be so good if you help me .

can we hack a hard drive . i have opened so many different hard drive and most of them they having the same component . can we just change the

magnetic plate (or whatever its called ) and put it to other device which gives us ability to read our data ?

the idea is to be able to read your data when your hard drive is dead or ....

because as i understood the data will be safe as long as the magnetic palate are untouched , or not damaged , because at the most of the time its problem with the electronic parts .

thanks in advance

sorry I am not Ben but in ITT Tech classes we are taught that once you open a hard drive you allow dust and dirt to get in and even if you were to get the parts running, you will still have have plates that will scratch as soon as you try  to wright to the dirty plates. Its why they seal hard drives.

It would take an identical hard drive, an expert with a steady hand and a clean room to pull that off. There are several videos of guys with their own data recovery shops showing how to replace the read/write arms on YouTube. Definitely nothing you would want to try with the magnetic plates or by yourself..

hi will and ooblik . thanks for your posts . i know the dust will damage the plates as i said  i have tried so many hard drive like more than 40 times, even when the drive was open i was able to read the data from disk i kept it this way yo see functionality on drive . may be i was lucky but it work so many times . the problem is as soon as i remove the plate with different one every thing will miss up .

so you think there is no way to remove the plate from dead drive and replace it with the new drive , i know it should be some way to do this . because if you send the dead drive to the manifacture company the will charge you around 1500 Euro and they will make it works . so if they are able to do that im gonna do that .
