New Building Project idea

Ben Heck,

I was wondering if you are able to build your own 'Super-computer' with a high memory capacity, and thats capable of high-speed internet, and a lot of game data.

If this is possible, i think it would be a great idea to build on 'The Ben Heck Show'.

Pretty much yea. I just 'want' something like that that i can 'build' and then play games on, and do my other normal internet things. Thanks! Very helpful!

problem is, supercomputers are not geared that way. To make room for all those cores you are giving up space for anything else. Then the heat, in Zurich they use a liquid cooling system on the Universities supercomputer and the heat is piped to the underfloor radiant heating system to heat the center.

    Zurich story

A gaming rigs number one enemy is heat. More heat, the hotter it runs. Hot system warps boards and burn out gpu's and cpu's.

Plus the price tag would be high with 80 cores and basic GPU to handle graphics being eight thousand dollars. Now Imagine putting in Crossfired match two or even three high end Nvidia cards each costing several hundred dollars, Sound cards, your OS, Gaming keyboards and mice.
