LCD Ziff Pinout for Compaq Presario 1255

LordMortus

I just finished tearing my old laptop apart to repurpose the monitor.   This will be my first mod/hack of a computer and I was wondering if anyone could help me find the pinouts for the ziff connector on the monitor and the backlight connector as well.  The idea is to mount the monitor without any frame on a board with a computer mounted the same way, completely open for viewing pleasure.  I've already ripped an old router apart to add to this "build"? (Maybe it should be a tear down instead hehe)

So, to sum up, Ziff pinout/lead arangement to connect a vga plug to it

Backlight pinout and voltage requirements.

Any help is greatly apreciated and will try to post pictures/work log once I have everything ready to go.

Thanks in advance!

To get the pinout you will have to get the part number of the LCD panel and find a datasheet online. In my experience you can't get datasheets for the backlight inverter so you have to work out the connections yourself. If the rest of the laptop is working then you can measure it to find the voltages.

Since laptop LCDs require LVDS signals you will need to get some sort of DVI or VGA to LVDS adapter like this http://www.systemation-inc.com/products_standard.html It will have to be configured for the resolution of your LCD.
