Portable Hauppauge HD PVR challenge

The Hauppauge HD PVR is pretty much one of the best piece of hardware if you want to record your video game session in HD. The problems is it always have to be close to a computer since it can't do recording on it own. So moving it around is a bit of a pain but while the device require a computer it barely require any resource plus you can record with just one cat command in Linux. What am thinking is mate an HD PVR with something like a Raspberry PI and a 2.5 hard drive using only one power cord in a new case.
