3D Printers!

Hi to all,

I have a few questions. I would be very grateful if you answer them.

I want to make a 3D printer but I want it to have one UBIS hot end, Ulticontrol and running on Arduino (saves money instead of the printrboard).First of all, on the website, under the Hot Ends category in the shop there is one

1.75mm Ubis Hot End (0.4mm tip) and one

Ubis Hot End (0.4mm tip).

Which one did Ben use for the double decker 3D printer. Secondly, would they be compatible with the Arduino? For the motors I found out that there is a Kysan Motor (large) on the printrbot website. I think this one is cheaper than what Ben used for the double decker 3D printer. Is it good? It barely has any description. Furthermore, how many motors should I need?

Fifthly, Ben, please can you give me the laser wood files for the double decker 3D printer either in .ai file format or .pdf Thanks Finally, I recently had triple glazed my old windows, and so, could a window be suitable for the bed for the 3D printer. Thanks againimage

I appreciate your hard work

Tim

Hey Tim It looks as though the only difference in the hotends is, one is using 1.75mm filament were the other is 3mm. I currently run 3mm in my printer only for the reason it is more readily available…

I forgot to mention that http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page is a great website for diy printers. It explains all the different options.

    Hey Tim

It looks as though the only difference in the hotends is, one is using 1.75mm filament were the other is 3mm.  I currently run 3mm in my printer only for the reason it is more readily available and also cheaper.  Yes this hotend will work with the Arduino.  Typicaly the Mega 2560 or some clone is what is used.   If you do go with the Arduino you will needs to either buy or build a ramps 1.3 or 1.4 shield(http://reprap.org/wiki/Ramps) that allows for stepper drivers(typically Pololu A4988 http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1182).  The Kyson motor will work just fine, as for how many you will need depends on what kind of design you plan on building.  I built the prusa mendel and had to have 5 motors.  A left over window will work but if you want to get nicer prints i would say go with a hotbed with the glass on top.  Hope this helps!

Double Printer used an UBIS hot end with a .4mm extruder I beieve for the 3mm filament.

I'd suggest using 1.75mm filiament though. Mostly because it's easier to load and wrangle.
