What materials uses Ben ?

Question

Hi, i would like to make a double decker 3D printer like Ben.

He made this one out of wood, but he maid his first 3D printer out of some black material.

Is there someone who knows what that black material is?

The material is expanded foam PVC. Sometimes goes by the brand name Sintra or Komatex. It comes in a wide variety of colors, size and thickness. Fairly strong and easy to machine. Can be pretty heavy though.
