Viewer Challenge! xbox 360 storage expansion (outside the box idea)

we have found ways to mod to make a xbox 360 hard drive for cheaper but have not yet seen or found a way that actually increases past microsofts limits. I have an idea on how to do this but i do not have a soldering iron and i dont know how to use it properly my excuse is i havnt even picked one up yet. anyways my idea as a begining test is to remove the hard drives insert place (not the slim) and then add wire as if we were to extend it so we could place it anywhere we want but at the same time add a second set of wire so as to have multiple inputs (hopefully) and on the end of each wire reattatch a harddrive insert the one we removed onto one wire set and another spare one from another console onto the other wires we attatched.

Slim: for the slim idk if it would be as complicated ive been trying to find a sata hard drive extender that splits into two idk if they make them but if they dont i think it would be a matter of mayby stripping some wire and adding on a extra sata hard drive plugin.

I dont know if this would work or not because of information coming from two different harddrives and into one information recieving thing idk what its called.

I know about transfer cables ect but what id like is a system that i can plug three or four 320 GB hard drives into my xbox 360 and it will read them all because i download alot of my games and im on my third 320 GB hard drive n to play another game i have to transfer my profile to another hard drive turn off my system and remove one from the console one from the transfer cable n switch them.

I would really appreciate a multiple hard drive bay system and itd be nice to see you complete this challenge in one of your videos. also if possible the newer xbox 360 or a slim would be prefered or the elite. hope you manage to figure out what i could not.

in the picture i added i couldnt show how i imagine it would look like but just kind of an idea of what im thinking i cant remove the pieces yet going to pick up the tools needed in a few days anyways it shows a motherboard still in a case upside down and another motherboard ontop as a visual just imagine the motherboard in the case is gone and its just the one on top but it still has the input of the bottom motherboard for the hard drive on the bottom of the top motherboard thats the best visual i can provide with out modifiying the systems yet.

even if you dont take on the challenge and build this multibay system if i was to attempt it do you think theres a possibility it would work or it would just confuse the motherboard with more then one input wired in the same spot?

well soldering isnt to hard to learn as i have found but desoldering is another thing my attempt at removing the hard drive insert was unsuccesful i managed to forcefully remove it without breaking off to much of the metal inserts that go into the board and as a second attempt to desolder it i used a small drill bit to try and remove the rest of the melt but all i managed to do was wreck the board so now im down a motherboard any ips on desoldering really small soldered parts?

Ben would really appreciate a response on something???

I don't see an easy way to get this done, but I do see a way. The data & power cables go to an external box with 2+ HDDs in it & a switch of some kind is used to select between the different HDDs which one is connected to the xbox. This has some problems, you need to have the xbox off when switching drives, & you'd want an external USB drive to have your profile on. You could enable cloud storage onto the HDDs so your save games would be on all the drives.
