Help! I can't get my Raspberry Pi to work with my Lapdock 500.

I am having trouble getting my lapdock to stay on when i connect my Raspberry Pi. I've seen several cases where people have been able to get it to work with the Lapdock 100 and the Atrix Lapdock but there is something about the 500 that is different. I have hooked up my Droid RAZR to make sure the lapdock works and everything there is fine. It's so close I'm just lost as to what to do next.

Not sure if this is solved, if they don't know on the RPI forums, we probably won't here

That's a good thread about Lapdock 500 issues, and I think Bill has already added comments to that thread.  I like sansevero's theory on 9 August 2013 where he suggests there's an additional message that needs to be sent over the HDMI DDC and/or CEC line to keep Lapdock 500 happy.

Bill, if you like tinkering you might try plugging in your RAZR through a modified HDMI cable and watching DDC and/or CEC with a sillyscope.  If it's a single message, it might be possible to have RasPi send that message, though that depends on whether the HDMI driver software has such a capability.  It may be a periodic polling message with some sort of encryption like CHAP, which would be difficult to reverse-engineer -- and possibly illegal to do so in the USA if the protocol is used to enforce DRM.
