PS1 Portable lcd to ps1 connection

antoinec

Hi,

I'm currently trying to convert my regular ps1 in to a portable version of it. I am using the LCD display from my old HP 2133 (HP 2133 Mini-Note PC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia),

but I can't seem to figure out how to connect it to the AV multi out port on the Playstation 1. I don't know what wires from the LVDS cable I would have to solder to the AV multi out port on my playstation. So I also searched for a cable that could connect the LVDS connector to the AV multi out directly, but so far I haven't found any suitable cable.

The fact is, I am a rookie at this and I could really use the help of more experienced people like you.

Thank you.

Antoine

I couldn't find anything cheap, here is something

    MS531LC|LCDPARTS.net

The problem is you need to go from an old composite signal, to something those lvds boards can take, usually vga, and then go lvds out to the monitor

    RCA | S-VIDEO | VGA TO VGA Converter - Monoprice.com

DVI VGA GM5621 Universal LVDS LCD Display Driver Controller Board for 13" 22" | eBay

Or just scrap the screen and get one of those backup cam screens on ebay that accepts composite

I appreciate the effort a lot. I have bought the LCD Display Driver Controller Board you recommended from eBay. For only 10€ there is no reason I shouldn't try it.

Before, I could only find LCD controller boards for around 35$ and more. If that doesn't work, Plan B would be to buy a new screen as you proposed.

Thank you, colecago. You always seem to find good answers!

You will also need something to convert the composite signal from the avout into vga for that board, hence the monoprice link as well. When looking for those, be careful as many of the things you find will be vga to composite so you can hook your computer to your tv and not the other way around.
